I was also banned. I consider it a badge of honor given their intense fear of independent and rational thought. A fraudster's biggest fear is to be exposed. The leaders of that forum, when their moral and intellectual weakness were revealed, panicked, went into "fight or flight" mode, and banned anyone who could think for themselves and express their thoughts coherently.

I think anyone could start a forum topic of relevant interest to them, and form local communities (like I am in the pro musicians one which might be members only. Someone could probably go and form a T.U.B.A. alumni ones Note—I am not even suggesting to go over there, but wanted to mention it being late to the party). I think the Seattle tuba community one was added to show who was playing in the area for example.

I think with several top players and teachers coming here to advertise openings and to sell horns, our site is well enough established.

ITEA gave themselves a specific name, but are interested in a different subject. If a business tried to sell you something different from what it was labeled, would you do business with them? Not me. I give my time, money, and effort to those with integrity.

Well, I did have a TubeNet account. Yesterday, even though the site was down, I could still sign in. Just couldn't see anything. Then I was signed out and couldn't sign in. Now I seem to no longer have an account. Maybe they were purging inactive accounts? I certainly hadn't posted there in years. Mostly I'd just check the for sale listings every once in a great while.

Not a big deal for me. Nothing of real value was lost.

I just tried to log in with my account. It says my account doesn't exist. It also says there are 0 registered users online at the bottom of the page. Maybe they got rid of all accounts?

The big loss was when seasoned professionals left that site, deleting posts containing decades of valuable experience & expertise. Zero regrets. :teeth:

I tried to recover my account, but that isn't working. I also tried to make a new account, but it just keeps refreshing the "I agree to these terms" page when I click "I agree to these terms" button. Fine. I'm much happier on tubaforum anyway!

Everything is up and running, but nothing works.

???

I tried posting or replying in seveal forums and all were stopped with the invalid form message.

Also, take a look at the birthdays, today. LOTS and LOTS of 46-year-olds on TN, baby. It's like the Class of 1997 signed up en masse, all with very similar names.

Perhaps this bot invasion is what they are trying to clean up (or not)? quick search shows that Agrohim is one of the largest manufacturers of pesticides in Russia.

WTF?

That place is just plain weird.

I left that place some time before all the weird went down. I mostly left because I really didn’t get the dynamic and, being quite ill for a good portion of my involvement, it was mostly from own lack of perception and perspective. What I do get now is that some really nice, even handed and helpful folks were clearly not treated very well. I don’t read any of them as “anti-anybody” either.

I don’t have a login and have spent zero time looking at their stuff. Seems like a resource lost and a waste of time visiting there now. I’m not interested in giving them any validation.

Whether it's worth participating in today, or not, the site still has a lot of accumulated information from people who aren't here, or even alive, and at a casual look it isn't archived on web.archive.org (not the posts.) It would be a shame to see it go off to the bit recyclers.

In reference to the original post: Who cares if it's busted or not? In my opinion, this board has become what TubeNet of old was and in my opinion is much better. Sure, we no longer have Klaus and a few others who have been claimed by time, but we still have a wealth of knowledge here. And with special thanks to our admins and moderators, we will get better as time passes. And that's all I have to say about that.
