Re: BBCo - Marzan Monday!
That Marzan CC is basically a B&M 5520 right? Those are pretty sweet. One of the guys in my studio in college had a B&M 5520 in silver with an added 5th valve. It played soooooooooo nicely.BaltimoreBrassCo wrote: Mon May 05, 2025 8:38 am We have two really nice playing Marzan tubas in at the moment! Re: BBCo - Marzan Monday!
I have that exact piston C marked Bohm & Meinl. I’d bet the BBb version is better in tune. Those are good horns that will make somebody very happy.

Re: BBCo - Marzan Monday!
The photos of the CC are kind of deceiving, it makes it look like a much smaller tuba. The BBb photos show the full glory!
If that CC is the 5/4-ish sized tuba, that's a great deal

Re: BBCo - Marzan Monday!
I would love to own this CC Marzan but that is not in the cards right now. Sooooo I would love to see it sold and someone out there in tuba land enjoying it. Here's a nice example of Stephanie Ycaza (UNC Greensboro) playing her B&M 5520 (basically this horn).

That BBb Marzan is the one I'm selling:
https://www.tubaforum.net/viewtopic.php?t=11514
and it can be yours! Main reason I'm selling it is because I'm getting older, and it's not getting any lighter. Oh, and the gig bag is a Cronkhite.

I've been admiring it. I had one and do miss it. But I'm in the same aging boat as you!...Heavy_Metal wrote: Tue May 06, 2025 7:17 pm That BBb Marzan is the one I'm selling:
