Stands

Post by Sousaswag »

Hi all, looking for two stands-

1) Hercules Tuba Stand. I’m going to give one of these a try for my bell front 350. I have devised a way to make it fully secure, I think, when it’s in front of my wall.

2) K&M Euphonium Stand. I’d like my newly acquired Double Bell to have somewhere to live too!

Posting here because I don’t want to pay full price for these things if I don’t have to

PM me if you’re looking to move one along.

Contact me about the stands, sir. I think I have both of the stands available that you're looking for, just west of you in Iowa.

Hey friend, if you ever stumble across something this crazy:
- an OLD SCHOOL Hamilton tripod-with-wheels BASS (NOT baritone) saxophone stand (similar in design to the bari' one, but - obviously - larger/taller), I'm your man...and (no) we beggars cannot be choosers (nor price-setters).

I think I will jump on the Standwagon too guys...
I am on the lookout for an Old School rugged metal tuba stand (to support a Conn 20J). I am not referring to a Hercules stand but rather, one which supports the instrument when playing. I could trade you a heavy duty old school butterfly style Sousaphone Stand in return if you are interested in that.
Thanks, Tom O

. . . Euphonium Stand. I’d like my newly acquired Double Bell to have somewhere to live too!
Quick plug for Bloke’s waste-not-want-not practicality and willingness to share his knowledge:
I wasn’t doubling enough to justify the expense or clutter of a euph stand, but several years back, Bloke mentioned using a Hercules french horn stand as an inexpensive, lightweight, super compact euphonium stand. I bought one on eBay for $10ish dollars, and believe I neglected circling back to thank Bloke for the advisory.

Very utilitarian for performance (less so, I’d imagine, for general sitting-out/display, because it’s ‘wide’ instead of ‘tall’): inexpensive, lightweight, folds small, deploys quickly, and holds the horn securely and accessible in a very stable, horizontal (low CG) position.
Thanks (very belatedly), Bloke!
